- Never enter real data into a project until it’s moved into production mode.
- Users must enter three (3) completed test records before submitting a project for production.
- Always describe your project’s purpose and type.
- When creating data fields that collect identifiable information, select “Yes” on the Identifier option to the right of the field label.
- When exporting and sending sensitive data, please use a secure method for transferring this information
- We recommend using REDCap’s “Send-It” function.
- Send-It is a secure data transfer application that allows you to upload a file (up to 1800 MB in size) and then allow multiple recipients to download the file in a secure manner. (Can be found in the REDCap top menu bar)
- When saving data export files to your machine, please save them in a secure place, such as Box.
- Keep your variable names “Short and Sweet”
- Enable Google reCAPTCHA for public survey’s
- NO FDA-APPROVED STUDIES SHOULD BE HELD IN GW REDCAP. We are HIPAA compliant, not 21 CFR Part 11 Compliant.
