Never enter real data into a project until it’s moved into production mode.
Users must enter three (3) completed test records before submitting a project for production.
Always describe your project’s purpose and type.
When creating data fields that collect identifiable information, select “Yes” on the Identifier option to the right of the field label.
When exporting and sending sensitive data, please use a secure method for transferring this information
We recommend using REDCap’s “Send-It” function.
Send-It is a secure data transfer application that allows you to upload a file (up to 1800 MB in size) and then allow multiple recipients to download the file in a secure manner. (Can be found in the REDCap top menu bar)
When saving data export files to your machine, please save them in a secure place, such as Box.
